Husband and wife team Connie and Royd Riddell offer quite an extensive array of rare 16th- to 19th-century prints, maps, and globes in their Uptown boutique. It’s all about Americana memorabilia here — and, not surprisingly, Republic of Texas effects in particular.

Concierge.com features R.L. Riddell Rare Maps & Fine Prints among its listing of recommended hot spots in Dallas. Visit this treasure-trove yourself. Who knows what sort of gems you might dig up!

Great Shop! However, they have moved to their own space down the street and are now located at: 3104 Fairmount.

They are the best in Dallas. We have had all of our art framed there and have bought many of their prints as well. Connie and Royd are first rate dealers – completely on par with what you expect to find in London, New York or Paris.

In 1956 I was stationed in Portugal and started gathering old-looking maps to make a room divider. I still have 30 maps in various sizes from 11×14 to 16×20. I rather doubt that they are antique, but they have that apperance. If you would like to look at them to assess their value, I could bring them to your office.

We were recently given a copper plate engraving by William Mount and Thomas Page of Antegua. The information card on the back is from R.L. Riddell Rare Books & Prints,2607 Routh Street, Dallas, Texas and dates this around 1775 and in good condition. Can you tell us more about this piece and its’ approximate value. It is uncolored. We are delighted to have this. Bill Dunbar
