The history behind this Chicago-based chain dates back to 1977 when owners of a failing antiques shop began selling sandwiches to help attract clientele. Bread was toasted over a potbelly stove and thus the name and Potbelly Sandwich Works concept were born.
The menu is what you might expect: a number of sandwich varieties! Turkey breast, smoked ham, and even pizza sandwiches are available — all made fresh and on the spot. Preview the menu on Potbelly’s official Web site.
The counter service is fast and friendly and the often long lunch line moves along quickly.
