Yes, a taste of Tahiti in Uptown Dallas! In 2003, the first Tahitian Noni Café opened in Tokyo. Now this health-food chain has locations in four countries worldwide: Japan, Brazil, Germany, and the U.S.
The exotic cuisine is centered around the noni plant. Never heard of it? In short, the noni, indigenous to Southeast Asia and French Polynesia, is believed to boost the immune system and act as an antioxidant (among its other health benefits).
The café menu boasts soup, salad, sushi, and sandwiches. Daily Candy’s picks include: noni crostini (sun-dried tomatoes, noni goat cheese, and pesto on a toasted baguette), banana noni crepes, and noni palmer tea (noni leaf tea and lemonade).
Forget ordering a Diet Coke to accompany your meal. Drinks feature…noni! (Are you surprised?) Give the Noni Berry Smoothie or Noni Lemonade a try.
